2016 Summer Library Club June 11 - August 13 For ages 12 and younger Kick-Off Event Sign up for the Summer Reading Club, check out fun activities, enjoy Culver’s frozen custard! Saturday, June 11 1-3 p.m. How to read for fun and prizes! (It’s easy) There are 3 Reading Periods. Get a prize for each Reading Period you complete. Read for 2 hours per week to complete the Reading Period (Prizes are available starting June 13). Parents: If your child is too young to read, you may read to them so they can participate. Prizes available while they last. Take a Vagabond Bear on Your Vacation! May 27 to September 4 Our Vagabond Bears have backpacks, a travel game book and a notebook for keeping a journal while on your family trip. Bears can be checked out starting on May 27th. Be sure to check out plenty of books to take on vacation! EXPRESS! Mondays at 10 a.m. June 13, 20, 27, July 11, 18, 25 Play and Read is a fun and FREE way for 3-4 year old kids to learn reading skills through play. Space is limited. Please call 364-5760 to register your child. Reading for Haircuts! Wednesday, August 3, 3-6 p.m. First Class College of Cosmetology 306 State Street Kids ages 5-18 are invited to read while in the barber’s chair and get their haircut free! Beloit Public Library provides the books. All kids who participate are given a voucher for a free book at the library! Free Meals for Kids @ the library August 15 – August 19 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Free meals for kids ages 18 and younger. Sign up at the Youth Services Desk. Sponsored by the School District of Beloit and The Salvation Army. The playgroups are run by AmeriCorps members and are sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and the Beloit Library Foundation.
