Future Focus:
• Continue to build an effective, cohesive Leadership Team throughout the District,
including the recruitment of leaders at all levels of the organization
• Sustain and/or increase leadership development opportunities at all levels of the
organization, including community and students, while continuing the Leadership in 4
Directions focus
• Continue to develop Instructional Leaders including a focus on the California State
Standards, increased emphasis on Learning Walks, and support for the Next Generation
Science Standards (NGSS)
• Provide leadership and coaching for District of Choice (DOC) legislation
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide time for professional development for
teachers, classified employees, and administrators
• Provide increased student and staff support, particularly for students who qualify as
underrepresented or Unduplicated Count, through the restoration of an Instructional
Dean position at High School level
• Develop an Aspiring Administrator Academy
• Provide leadership for developing site-based collaboration leaders as Professional
Teacher Time (PTT) continues to grow at schools
• Continue to support the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council
• Continue the district and school-community focus on Diversity and Cultural Awareness
• Develop a new Leadership Seminar cohort including securing funding for the
culminating Gettysburg experience
• Continue leadership development focus for executive-level members of WVEA, CSEA,
and WVAA
• Further develop parent-level leadership through the development of a Parent University
model and continued partnership with Community Clubs and the Coordinating Council
