Area of Focus # 2: Strengthening Relationships
Goal:
•
Develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships based upon trust, respect,
communication, and collaboration among colleagues, students, parents, and
community members.
Objectives:
•
Build trust and respect among all stakeholders.
o Continue building relationships with the associations’ executive boards
o Continue building the connection between Walnut Valley Schools and the District
Office Staff
•
Improve and increase communication to effectively unite the District on our common
goals through a variety of methods.
o Continue open dialogue with law enforcement
o Continue promoting our schools with the media to highlight their accomplishments
o Develop and continue to improve communication among stakeholders
o Continue to expand opportunities for student input
o Improve customer service skills and custodial communication skills through training
•
Develop a culture of collaboration throughout the District.
o Continue pursuing the Bond measure and developing relationships for support with
community groups such as students, seniors, and Mt. San Antonio College
(Mt. SAC)
o Continue the partnership with Dedicated to Learning (D2L) and the Walnut Valley
Financing Corporation (WVFC) for revenue streams and other ways to support
schools
o Strengthen staff and association relationships by reviewing contract commitments
with the Walnut Valley Educators’ Association (WVEA) and California School
Employees’ Association (CSEA)
o Encourage collaboration between K-12 sites — both vertically and horizontally
o Continue expanding business and community partnerships for internships/career
awareness
