WVUSD: 2016/2017 Year-End Results
Future Focus:
WVUSD will continue to explore ways to enhance existing programs as well as support new
programs as follows:
• Continue to work directly with ROP to offer more Career Technical Education (CTE)
pathways that lead directly into career technical-trades
• Begin discussions on the development of a state-of-the-art Districtwide Career Center
• Work with stakeholders to develop Professional Teacher Time (PTT)
• Work directly with the high schools to develop more online courses to prepare students
for college experiences
• Continue to support the articulation between middle school and high school through the
Curriculum Council, Counselor Network, and Visual and Performing Arts Council, and
explore the expansion to elementary grade levels
• Explore new Preschool curriculum and pilot program in 2017/2018
• Increase offerings in Educational Technology training
• Continue to implement the five year STEAM-O plan at each school site
• Expand Spanish to support instruction for Castle Rock and C.J. Morris Elementary
Schools’ Primary Years Programme (PYP)
• Explore adding a second Teacher Specialist in Educational Services to support
curriculum and instruction
• Offer a Parent University program that provides a variety of strategies for parents to
support their child at school and home
• Continue discussions and site visits to develop an Inclusion Model in elementary schools
as well as a support system to address the needs of all students
• Work directly with Dedicated 2 Learning (D2L) to explore an International “2+1” program
• Implement the Middle School Dual Language Immersion program
• Create a strategic plan that supports ALL students to be College and Career Ready
