WVUSD: 2014-2015 Year-End Results __________________________________________________________________________________________________  Diamond Bar High School and Walnut High School have collaborated on professional development in 2014-2015, providing training from external and WVUSD presenters, and providing time to collaborate around the planning for implementation of the content. Several hundred employees, have attended 2014-2015 diversity training, provided by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). The ADL provided aggregated feedback data that indicated a “very high” approval rating of approximately 90%. ADL has provided curriculum ideas for future implementation of student programs. Additionally, in the area of diversity, WVUSD has started a Diversity Think Tank. This “Think Tank” has met three times this spring, and it will continue its meetings in September 2015. The Diversity Think Tank includes community members, teachers, and administrators, and its members represent the diverse community of Walnut Valley. Elementary schools have participated in Year 2 PBIS training this year. This training has continued to strengthen the program, which was implemented in all elementary schools during 2013-2014. Site and district staff has attended the Safe Schools Conference (Strategies To Build, Measure, and Plan For School Climate). Additionally, staff has attended SARB workshops, Safe School Plan Trainings, and trainings by attorneys and staff regarding student fees-related Education Code and site and district policies and practices. The Child Care staff has attended trainings in Crisis Intervention and Prevention (CPI) and Homework Help in 2014-2015. Special Education staff has received training on new SELPA Individualized Education Plan (IEP) forms that reflect new ELA and math standards. Showcasing Awards, Defining and Expanding Existing Programs, Exploring Future Programs The Walnut Valley Unified School District, and its school sites, have earned incredible achievements during the 2014-2015 school year:  Project Lead the Way has been implemented at all three grade levels: Evergreen Elementary School, South Pointe Middle School, and both Diamond Bar High School (DBHS) and Walnut High School (WHS)  There are nine (9) Presidential Scholar Candidates from WHS and DBHS  Three students at WHS and DBHS each received a $40,000 scholarship check from Southern California Edison  Chaparral, South Pointe, and Suzanne Middle Schools have received California 2015 Gold Ribbon awards; South Pointe and Suzanne Middle Schools have also been honored for exemplary arts education programs  WVUSD is ranked #13 in California, out of more than 1,000 school districts, in the 2015 Niche Report __________________ Walnut Valley Unified School District 10 __________________
