1. Age? 16 years old
2. Nicknames? I get called Ash and Crasher.
3. Do you remember your very first race meeting? My very first race meeting was at Kartsport Wellington in March 2009, I was really happy when I didn’t get lapped twice in one race!
4. How do you like to prepare for a race meeting? I like to clean my helmet and get all of my gear ready and I also go to the gym during the week.
5. What is your favourite circuit? My favourite circuit in New Zealand is my home track Wellington because the elevation changes, and ever since the 2013 Rotax Nationals I have loved the Puckapunyal track.
6. Who do you enjoy racing against the most? I have a great deal of respect for the Kinsman brothers and I always enjoy racing them.
7. Does your helmet design have a special significance? My helmet was designed for me especially by Mitch Baker a good friend of mine and I took inspiration from one of James Courtney’s helmets along with inspiration from one of Sebastian Vettle’s helmets.
8. Best moment in your career so far? A highlight in my career in Rotax Light
so far has been coming 2nd in the Goldstar Championship round Grand
Prix and coming 9th at the Hawkes Bay round of the New Zealand
Rotax Max Challenge.
9. Worst moment in your career so far? My worst moment would
have been crashing on the first corner of the final at the NZ
Nationals this year when I was on for a great result.
10. Future racing goals? I would love to race karts in Europe and
I would also like to race at the SKUSA Supernationals in Las Vegas.
11. What do you like to do away from the track? I like to spend time
with friends in my free time, I also like to go shopping.
12. What was the last movie you watched? The last movie I watched
was Top Gun.
13. Favourite Band/Song? I like some New Zealand artist’s Six60 and Jamie Mcdell and a favourite song of mine at the moment would have to be Sugar
by Maroon 5.
14. Biggest fear? I hate rats.
15. Worst habit? My Father always says that I leave the door open, on and off the track.
16. Holiday destination you most want to visit? I would like to visit Monaco
to watch the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
17. If you won the lotto, what is the first thing you would do with the money?
I would love to buy a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
18. 3 things you couldn’t live without? I cannot live out my family, my phone and my make-up.
19. Greatest advice you have been given? My good friend Olivia Yardley always tells me to “Get amongst it” when I’m racing.
20. People you would like to thank? Ken Bensley and the Moore family for making it possible for me to be able to race in Australia. I would also like to thank my parents for all of their love and support and I would like to thank the Kinsman family and Jason Anderson from Praga NZ for all of their help.
