FRESHMAN SEASON [2014]
Lotte Sjulin served as Nebraska’s top pinch runner as a freshman, appearing in 27
games, all as a pinch runner. Sjulin scored 12 runs in 2014, scoring in nearly half of her
pinch-running appearances. She scored a run in her career debut at New Mexico State on
Feb. 8 on the opening day of the season. Sjulin scored a run in three straight appearances
from March 8-19 and then scored runs in back-to-back games against Illinois on April 6
and UNO on April 8. Sjulin scored a run in four consecutive Big Ten games from April 1219. Her final run scored of the season came in Nebraska’s 8-1 victory over Missouri in the
NCAA Regional final.
In addition to being a pinch runner, Sjulin filled a valuable role with the Husker pitching
staff. Serving as a bullpen catcher who spent countless hours working with Nebraska’s
pitchers, Sjulin played a large role in the Huskers ranking 13th nationally with a 1.92 ERA
in 2014. Sjulin also used her freshman season to develop her outfield and offensive skills.
She also assisted the Husker coaching staff in a variety of ways during games, earning the
2014 Borg-Wright Nebraska Coaches Award.
Off the field, Sjulin was named to Nebraska’s 2014 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team.

Class B all-state honors from the Omaha World-Herald. Sjulin also garnered honorablemention All-Capital Conference accolades and was named one of 13 players to watch in
Class B prior to the 2012 season by the Lincoln Journal Star. Following the year, she was
a Journal Star honorable-mention all-state selection.
Sjulin was selected to play in the 2013 Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Game,
