HUSKERS.COM | 9 BRADFORD ZITSCH Junior I Columbia, Missouri Outlook (2014-15): Bradford Zitsch continued his progression in the Husker program as a sophomore and looks to make another leap as a junior in 2014-15. Zitsch was a regular in Nebraska’s doubles lineup in Big Ten Conference action, posting a 3-7 record, while going 2-3 in Big Ten singles play. He hopes to work his way onto the court for even more action in his third season with the Big Red as a junior. “Bradford will play a significant role in doubles again,” Head Coach Kerry McDermott said. “We are hoping that he can continue to improve and move up in the singles lineup, as he has the ability to do some big things for this team. He is a versatile athlete and is learning to set up his points a little longer rather than pulling the trigger too soon. As long as he keeps developing his patience, I think he can be a force in our singles lineup.” Sophomore (2013-14): One of Nebraska’s top doubles players, Zitsch produced an overall doubles record of 12-19 playing out of the No. 1 position as a sophomore. He went 9-15 during dual action in the spring, including a 3-7 record against Big Ten Conference foes. On the singles court, Zitsch went 5-4 on the season, including 2-3 in Big Ten duals, while playing out of the No. 5 and No. 6 positions in the lineup. A strong performer in the classroom, Zitsch added recognition on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Roll in the fall semester of 2013. Freshman (2012-13): Zitsch earned a 15-14 overall doubles record, including a 3-5 Big Ten mark. Zitsch went 11-10 in the spring with five different partners. Zitsch only played five singles matches in 2013, earning a 3-2 spring mark going 1-2 in the Big Ten and snatching a 6-6 overall record, all from the No. 6 position. Zitsch secured a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall of 2012 and spring of 2013 for his academic performance. Before Nebraska: Zitsch attended Rock Bridge High School where he won the Missouri state singles title his senior year. He led Rock Bridge to three consecutive state team championships. Zitsch also won a national title in doubles at the Saint Louis National Tournament. He came to Nebraska as a top-100 recruit. Personal: Bradford is the son of Bob and Molly Zitsch. He was born Aug. 4, 1993, in Columbia, Mo. He has two older sisters Georgie and Whitley. Bradford is majoring in agronomy at Nebraska. ANDREW DZULYNSKY Junior I Miramar, Florida Outlook (2014-15): Andrew Dzulynsky saw increased action on the court during his second season at Nebraska in 2013-14 and hopes to continue his climb in the Husker lineup as a junior in 2014-15. Dzulynsky was a regular in Nebraska’s Big Ten Conference lineup as a sophomore, posting a 2-9 mark while playing out of the No. 3 and No. 4 positions. Overall, he produced a solid spring with a 9-12 singles mark to go along with a 4-3 doubles record. “Andrew realizes that in order for him to improve he must work on his quickness and continue to find ways to dictate points rather than just wait for his opponent to miss,” Head Coach Kerry McDermott said. “Hopefully, his hard work this summer will pay off, and he will continue to make big strides in our program.” Sophomore (2013-14): Dzulynsky saw much more playing time as a sophomore playing both singles and doubles. Playing out of the No. 3 and 4 positions in singles during the spring, Dzulynsky reeled off a seven-match winning streak on his way to a 9-12 spring record. Overall, he went 10-17 in singles play. He added an 8-6 overall record at the No. 2 and 3 doubles positions for the year, including a 4-3 mark during the spring. He did not see any Big Ten doubles action.
