Artist-In-Residence
Program@Macaulay House
Founded in 2001, the KIAC Artist in Residence Program has welcomed over
220 talented artists, musicians and filmmakers to Dawson City from all regions of
Canada and around the world to the Parks Canada owned historic Macaulay House.
In addition to providing professional artists with unrestricted time and space to work,
the Residency’s aims to introduce visiting artists to the North, and to expose Yukoners
to contemporary Canadian art.
The 2015 Artists in Residence were diverse in terms of their work, and their backgrounds,
but all shared a passion for art, and relished the opportunity to be part of Dawson City, if
only briefly. Through open studios, artist talks, workshops, and exhibitions, the residents
were also able to interact with and educate the local community.
