On behalf of Havelock North High School rugby I’d like to thank Keady O’Leary and Graeme Fridd (1st XV coaches), Bruce Keatley, Chris Mellors and Luke Shadbolt (E Grade coaches) and Mr Greg Fenton (F Grade coach) for giving up their time to manage and direct our rugby boys this year. Also, thank you to the rugby committee, managed by Tracey Kinloch-Jones, for beginning the turn around of rugby at our school. I wish all rugby players and management the best of luck for next year in what I hope will be another successful season. Placing first in the Hastings Boys competition. This has been an outstanding year for squash at Havelock North High School. We were lucky to already have some experience in squash which helped us every week. We also had some good results in the Hawke’s Bay individual tournament with many players beating their seeding. Robert Fridd was seeded fourth and finished third, Harry Young was seeded sixth and came fifth and Josh Wait finishing second in Junior Boys. Hopefully we can carry on being a strong squash school and bring home some more titles. This year our girls squash teams have had an awesome year with HNHS Red winning the Hastings competition and with HNHS Blue coming second. In the Hawkes Bay Secondary School Individual Tournament we had some good placings in both sections. In the Junior Section (year 9 and 10) we had Caitlin Gregory 2nd and Jasmine Roydhouse-Ross 5th. In the Senior Section (year 11,12 and 13) we had Olivia Addis 3rd, Natalya Taylor 5th and Jasmine Mihaka 7th.
