Georgia Hulls The performances of Georgia Hulls this year were nothing short of awe inspiring. After taking out the HBSS Athlete of the year last year, Georgia then completed a magnificent 100-200 double at the NZSS Athletic Champs, as well as anchoring the 4x100 relay to victory. She also anchored the 4x400 relay to a silver medal. Onto this year, Georgia went to Australia where she did the 100-200 double in the U17 grade, then followed it up back at the NISS champs where she won the 100200-400 treble. After qualifying for the World Youth Championships in Cali, Colombia, it enabled her to compete against the best in the world in her age group, in which she made the semi-finals of both the 100 and 200. Her time in the 200m was the 10th fastest at the championships. NZSS Champs Georgia Hulls gold medals were amazing in the 100200m, but the highlight was her leg in the 4x100m final. She came from a long way behind to get up and win for her teammates Georgia Rathbone, Emily Young and Sophia Peterson. The 4x400m relay saw the team come second, with Jenna Tidswell coming into the team for Emily Young. Natalya Taylor just missed out on a medal in the javelin, finishing 4th. Unfortunately her best throw did not count, as she stepped out of the throwing area before her javelin had landed. She threw a PB of over 37m. A road race team of boys’ was also sent, the best performer being Joel Engelke who finished 24th.
