THE MOLE DAY Mole day was on Saturday 24th in the last week of October. It was fun and we were interested in it because our activities were containing different kinds of learning styles. We learned a lot of things about the mole and it was unforgettable. First we learned the mole number by the help of the worksheets that prepared by our chemistry teachers. The worksheets were containing history of Chemistry. Then we had a competition with all of the prep classes by the Kahoot quiz program. It was enjoyable and fun because the classes were ambitious about winning this competition. These questions were all about our chemistry lessons. So when the groups were trying to find the true answers of these questions, they learned the answers in the best way. Then we went to the sports hall of the school and we wrote the mole number by lying down to the floor. It was very different and amazing because it was an unusual activity for us. While we were writing the mole number, our bodies took different shapes and it was fun also it was hard for inflexible bodies. That’s why it was hard to be shaped like a zero. CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT Then we made cakes. Making the cake part was the most enjoyable part. Our cakes were symbolizing Thomson’s Plum Pudding atomic model. That means we cooked some raisin pies. At the final part, the chefs of our school tasted our cakes and they selected the best cake. The day was fun and full of chemistry; we hope that we will have more days like this. 0 0 00 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 Nur İŞCAN Naz Irmak ÖZGÖZ Prep-C THE CLAPPER 2015 - 2016 57
