Biodiesel has significant role in daily life so biodiesel is
used for in most of the human life. For instance:
• Transportation (in cars, trains, military vehicles etc.)
• Heat (fuel as generators, radiators etc.)
• Power Generation
Since the biodiesel has many advantages and
functional properties that force people to look for
some ways to obtain biodiesel with low price. One of
the cheaper way is getting biodiesel by the reaction
between waste vegetable oil and methyl-alcohol
help of catalyst (Sodium Hydroxide). The reaction is
showed below;
The point that separate biodiesel from other fuels is
having many advantages affects whole human life and
these points are:
•Biodiesel is a renewable energy source (it can be
used more than one time unlike petroleum-based
diesel.
•Biodiesel is less polluting than petroleum diesel.
•Biodiesel may lengthen the lifetime of engines.
•Biodiesel can also be distributed through existing
diesel fuel pumps, which is another biodiesel fuel
advantage over other alternative fuels.
•Biodiesel fuels can be used in existing oil heating
systems and diesel engines without making any
alterations.
•Biodiesel does not give harm to nature as much as
petroleum-based diesel.
Like all fuels, the biodiesel has also some disadvantages
but its advantages excess push it down to give place
in every piece of daily life so the using of biodiesel is
more important by comparison with other fuels in
terms of availability and ease of use.
