Although the Highland campus has been here for generations, we have newly renovated grounds with exciting play structures and artificial turf. We are a welcoming, inclusive school community where children and adults alike exemplify our four core values: be kind, work hard, get smart and talk it out. At New Highland Academy, we believe the arts are as important as reading and math. Every student receives visual art and dance instruction as well as the other core subjects. Our Arts Expo in the spring is an exciting showcase that highlights what our students are learning about-and through--the arts. Additionally we are focusing on science and literacy so that students engage in hands-on investigations of science concepts while their teachers artfully use reading, writing and arts as ways for students to deepen their scientific knowledge. Our large school garden provides an outdoor classroom for life sciences. We have a Family Resource Center with a full-time coordinator providing a variety of supports and services to families. We offer counseling services to provide support as needed. Our on-site afterschool program, Solar Rays, provides homework help, sports, enrichment and leadership opportunities for our young scholars. 54 Enrollment Options Guide 2015-16 School Uniform Description New Highland students wear light blue or white tops with dark blue bottoms (pants, skirt, or shorts).
