Elementary TK-5
Laurel Elementary School is located in the foothills of East
Oakland. Our campus serves a densely-populated, ethnicallydiverse, predominately working-class neighborhood. Our
mission is to improve students’ academic achievement
in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where
the needs of the whole child are met. In addition to our
rigorous core instructional program and our science focus,
we offer enrichment classes including dance, music, art, and
technology. We also offer an afterschool program for grades
two through five that has both an academic and enrichment
component. Join our school community and be a part of
Laurel Pride!
School Uniform Description
Students at Laurel are strongly encouraged to
come to school in common dress. Students at
Laurel have the option of blue or black bottoms
and a white or light blue top. Students may also
wear printed Laurel Lions t-shirts in one of our
