Lafayette Elementary is a thriving Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Math school (STEM) where teaching and
learning is our focus and student achievement is our goal.
Our Schoolwide behavioral expectations, which are the
foundation of our positive learning environment, are the “3
Be’s”: Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Safe. Our students
have the unique opportunity to blend the arts and science
which deepens their critical thinking and prepares them
for the challenges of the 21st century. We are fortunate to
have a phenomenal bilingual staff to support our school
community. Lafayette Elementary is supported by the
following oustanding organizations: SOAR Afterschool
Program, BOOST, The Oakland Bay Area LINKS, Jiji Math,
Roots of Empathy, Jair Learning, Kids Club, Obugs Gardening,
Family Literacy/ESL Adult Ed Classes, Circle of Care Girls
Group, Brothers on the Rise Boys Mentoring Group, Prescott
Clowns, Alice Arts, Breath Mobile, Mocha Art Program,
Oakland Studens Orchestra, Music Integrated Learning
Experience (MILE), ARIA San Francisco Opera, Safety Patrol,
California Poets in the Schools, Junior Achievement, Davita/
