Oakland Unified School District Elementary (TK-5) Esperanza Elementary 10315 E Street, 94603 639-3367 Site Code 177 | Options Code 119 Elementary TK-5 Esperanza is small school on the Stonehurst Campus that promotes academic excellence in English and Spanish through rigorous and relevant instruction. Students in kindergarten, first and second grades participate in a dual-language immersion program, learning half the day in each language. In all grades, teachers integrate English, Spanish, science and social studies through thematic units on engaging topics such as animals, immigration, or literature. Esperanza offers a range of programming, including a school-wide reading challenge, music classes, garden-based education, community service projects, after-school tutoring and enrichment, including sports, arts and dance. Esperanza welcomes students of all language backgrounds and encourages English-speaking students to enroll.
