FOOTBALL  FOOTBALL  FOOTBALL  FOOTBALL  FOOTBALL Traverse City Central Football Coaches 2014 TIM ODETTE – Varsity Coach Tim Odette enters his first season as a member of the Traverse City Central staff. This is his sixteenth season coaching high school football. He has coached for multiple programs with his most recent stop being Muskegon Oakridge. Coach Odette is married to Sarah and has two daughters; Brynn 5 and Elyn 3. He is a graduate of Central Michigan University and is a Social Studies teacher at Central High School. ERIC SCHUGARS – Varsity Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers Coach Schugars is native of Muskegon and a graduate of Western Michigan University. This is Eric’s 13th season coaching Trojan football and his fourth year as Varsity Defensive Coordinator. He has been the head coach of both the JV and freshman football teams and currently teaches Economics and Civics at Traverse City Central high School. Eric is married to his beautiful wife, Carissa; together they have three children, two daughters, Hayden (6) and Teagan (4 months), and a son, Talan (5). He attributes his love for coaching to his father, Jack, a Hall of Fame coach and three-time state champion at Muskegon Oakridge High School. GREG SHERWIN – Varsity Offensive Line Assistant Coach Greg Sherwin is entertaining his 33rd year of playing and coaching football. He joined Traverse City Central’s football team as an assistant to Doug Gle on the offensive line three years ago. Greg played high school football at Traverse City Saint Francis and went on to play left offensive tackle at Central Michigan University. Greg’s wife Wendy is a Traverse City Central graduate and they have three boys, Ben 10th grade, Sam 9th grade, and Jack 8th grade. KONRAD VISSER – Varsity Defensive Line Coach Coach Visser returns as the defensive line coach. Konrad is a teacher and also an assistant track coach at Traverse City Central. He and his wife Diana have two children, Franciska and Christopher. JUNIOR VARSITY COACHES JEFF TURNER – Junior Varsity Head Coach Coach Turner is entering his second season on the Trojan football staff and 14th season overall coaching football. His previous stops include Jonesville, Flushing, Morenci, and Dundee. Jeff is a math teacher at Traverse City Central High School, and in addition to football, he coaches Varsity Boys Basketball. Jeff and his wife of 26 years, Amy, have four kids, Jeffrey (25), Hayley (23), Reegan (20), and Zeke (14). MIKE KOLANOWSKI – Junior Varsity Assistant Coach Coach Kolanowski is entering his third season with Trojan football. It’s his second season as the JV Defensive Coordinator and Assistant Coach. Prior to this, he was the Freshmen Defensive Coordinator at TCC and in 2009-10, he was a Varsity Assistant for Onekama Consolidated School’s football. This will be his fourth season as the TCC Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach and his second at East Middle. In 2010-11, he was the Head Baseball Coach and a PE, Health, and Psychology teacher at Manistee Catholic Central. Mike is a graduate of Manistee High School (‘04) and Hope College (‘09) with a B.A. in PE, and double minor in Health and Psychology Education. Coach K played college football at Hope College as a linebacker and punter. He currently lives in Williamsburg with his wife Lauren. EVAN WINDHOLZ – Junior Varsity Assistant Coach Coach Windholz is entering his fifth season coaching in the Trojan program. After stints at the middle school and the freshman program, this is his second season coaching both the offensive and defensive line for the Junior Varsity. Coach Windholz loves the game and working with the kids. He is married to Karen and father to Alex (16) and Kathryn (10).
