HONORS AND AWARDS
2014 • SEASON OUTLOOK
Hollie Blanske (pronounced Blann-Skee) will
look to be a big-time contributor in all four events
for the Huskers this season. Blanske is coming off a
strong freshman campaign and will be returning as
one of NU’s top vaulters.
“She knows what is expected from her,” Nebraska
Coach Dan Kendig said. “I think because of all her
experience especially from last year, we are going
to see an even better year from her. She works so
hard and does not complain, gets after it and gets
things done.”
2013 • FRESHMAN SEASON
Blanske battled back from an offseason knee
injury to become a solid three-event competitor
for the Huskers in her first season. Blanske came
on strong late in the season for Nebraska, posting
or tying career-bests on all three events during
the month of March. She was a crucial part
of Nebraska’s Big Ten Championship-winning
efforts, finishing in a tie for sixth on floor (9.90)
and earning a share of the Big Ten title on vault
(9.95).
Blanske finished the 2013 season with a trio of
individual titles, including two on vault and one
on floor. She notched a fourth-place finish on
vault at the NCAA Morgantown Regional, posting
a 9.925 behind only teammates Jessie DeZiel,
Emily Wong, and Brittany Skinner.
