It is my final year here at UTA, so that meant I finally got to go on the trip that went out of State. This year, we went all the way to Colorado Spring, CO, which was a 12 hour drive from Arlington. We left at 6 in the morning Friday which wasn’ t a problem for me because I had 12 hours to sleep on the bus. We stopped in Lubbock, TX where we toured the huge Texas Tech University. It was a very nice university and is a city that I am familiar with because it is in west Texas. From there, we only stopped in Amarillo, TX just to switch drivers and we got into Colorado Springs around 10:30 p. m. Saturday morning we woke up pretty early and went to visit the Air Force Academy, which was my favorite part about the trip. The Air Force Academy is the most beautiful university that I have ever seen and their chapel was even more beautiful. I have always dreamed about becoming a Fighter Pilot for the Air Force and this just made me think that my dream can become more achievable. After that, we went to the Garden of the Gods, which really isn’ t much of garden at all, just a really nice mountain range. We ate sandwiches for lunch there and then left to go to the zoo. The zoo there was the biggest zoo I have ever been to in my entire life, they even had a place where you could pet the giraffes! After the zoo, we went to eat at Golden Corral which was good because I was starving! After that we went to the mall, which was not so big compared to the zoo. After that went back to the hotel to sleep, and early the next day we got back on the bus for the long bus ride home.- Miguel Velez
The class of 2014( and the 2015 returners) went to Colorado for our End of the Year Trip. At around six in the morning, we began our long journey. Our first stop was in Lubbock to see the Texas Tech campus. After that, we completed our drive to Colorado. The next day, we visited many different places. My favorite was the Garden of the Gods. We learned about the mountains’ history, as well as received a tour on the mountains! This trip definitely gave me a lot of memories to keep forever.- Deanna Gibson
For the upper classmen and returners for our end of the year trip, we went to Colorado. It was so amazing and beautiful. The weather was just perfect over there. I wish I could go back over there. We left at six in the morning from UTA to Colorado. On our way over there we stopped at Lubbock to take a college tour of Texas Tech. That college was so huge and beautiful. I would also be interested in going to that college also but just for business management, then transfer to somewhere else. We didn’ t get to our hotel in Colorado until like ten or eleven. The next morning, we had to get up at six and be ready by eight. First, we went to the Air Force Academy to take a tour of the place and the watch a small video of what they do there at the academy. Then we went to the Garden of Gods and saw all the beautiful mountains they had. We took a tour of the mountains and learned all the history behind all the mountains and they names they had. They had this very unique mountain and were called the kissing camels. If you look and stare at it from a distance you can see the formation of the two camels kissing. Out of all the mountains that one was the best, I just thought of how unique it is for the weather and breaking down of the rocks to make that kind of formation. After the tour we had lunch there and went to the gift shop and bought souvenirs. Then we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, that place was just so amazing I’ ve never seen a zoo that beautiful before. When we first got there we went to go see the giraffes they were so amazing, you were able to touch them and feed them. After the zoo we went to go eat dinner at golden corral it was so delicious. Then they took us to the mall for a while but it was still fun to go shopping. That day was so long and fun, I enjoyed all the places they took us to. they were so much fun. My favorite part about going onto this trip was the Garden of Gods and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Those two places were so beautiful.- Martha Pecina
