I have enjoyed the first two weeks on campus very much. I have met some new people and my classes are really interesting. The times that I spend back at the dorms is only doing four things: talking to my friends, doing homework, doing laundry, and most importantly sleeping! Every chance I get to take a nap at the dorms, I take it. Sleep is the best thing in the world and it kills time. To most people, I am the person who locks myself in my room to sleep and never talks to anyone. Which is basically true because I’ d rather sleep than go out and converse with other people.- Miguel Velez
I have learned so many things from this program! I would say that the most important would be concerning resources. I know that we all will get out what we put in. Also I learned to make the best with what you have. I can’ t thank the program enough for everything it has done for me!- Jazmin Escamilla
The most important lesson I learned in the past 5 weeks was not to be afraid to ask teachers questions. In the classes I was struggling in, I just tried to find out on my own but I would get everything wrong and got a bad grade. I finally just started asking the teacher for help and he explained everything. At first, I thought I would look stupid but asking question and getting help benefits me and my grade.- Desiree Garcia

“... now I have many great friends that I love and care about so much.”

“ Moving in and organizing the dorms was a great college experience. I felt like a college student, so grown up!”

Photoshop class with Chinh is probably my favorite class because Photoshop is really fun to use. It is hard for everyone at first because it is a difficult application to use. But once you get used to it, it is really fun, trolling pictures of your friends and fun stuff like that. We had a project where we had to combine ourselves with an animal, so being the geek I am, I combined myself with Pokémon. I love my Flygon wings. I enjoy 3 hours of this class because as I have said like 40 times, it is amazingly fun.-Jeremy Roca
Expect the unexpected they say … but I would have never guessed that suspected gunman would delay class! On Wednesday, I was awoken at around 5am to Patricia telling me that I was not allowed to leave the room. At the time, I wasn’ t able to process the information so I went back to sleep without question! Then at 6:30 Jennifer calls me from Washington asking why the campus was on lockdown. I immediately went to Kelsey’ s room and realized that I was one of the last people to understand what was going on. We all knew we were going to be there a while so we all piled in Kelsey’ s room and had a meal Doritos and Sour Patch kids! Well we are all alive now and that is all that matters!- Jazmin Escamilla
