Dr. Sabin Duncan It is fitting that the professional journey of Dr. Sabin Duncan includes service as the Director of the Freddye T. Davy Honors College. Freddye Davy was his favorite teacher, one of his closest friends, and his most treasured mentor. She would often tell him, " you ' re a teacher, no matter how you try to deny it." In his career, Dr. Duncan has proven to be a teacher in a variety of roles. He has taught kindergarten, first, and second grade. He has been an elementary school principal and the Chief Operating Officer of a then 10,000 member church. He is the author of Reflections from the Frontline and has operated his own educational consultant company. In addition to being a graduate of the department he now leads, he completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at Hampton University. He also holds an Educational Specialist and Doctorate of Education from Eastern Michigan University.
Caminisa McLean has been the Activities Coordinator of Honor College for five years. During that time, she has been intimately involved with the planning, development, and running of the program.
Juanita Sears has been the secretary for Hampton University Honors College for ten years. During each of those nine years, she has had rewarding experiences working with teens during the A + Summer program. She is married and has three adult children and 5 grandchildren.
Antonio Atkinson is a rising senior Psychology major from Smithfield, VA. He is a member of the Peer Counseling Organization of Hampton University and a former member of Hampton University Football team( 2011-2013). His career aspirations are to be a marriage & family therapist and create a blueprint that can be used to save marriages with at least a 75 % success rate. One of the goals closest to his heart is to change the way young people view relationships.
