2012 Kiawah Conservancy Annual Report 2012 | Page 27

Inspired by input from a series of public sessions, interviews with Island leaders and our 15 years of experience, this is what we hope to accomplish by 2020. Environmental Goals: • Increase the percentage of developed properties that can be considered habitat friendly (through objective criteria) from today’s roughly 50% to 75%. • Enhance the critical natural habitat by preserving three larger tracts of land (greater than 3.5 acres) and 10 smaller tracts of land (less than 3.5 acres). • Facilitate three significant research studies as the foundation of our future actions. • Manage invasive species threatening Island ecology with the first focus on tallow trees. Capability Goals: • Create a shared vision and support for our goals by the community and its key stakeholders. • Double the number of property owners involved in conserving or enhancing our natural habitat. • Expand our donor base to at least 50% of property owners. • Increase our recurring revenue to $1.0 million per year. 2013 Officers and Trustees Chair Sue Corcoran Vice Chairman Kevin Cox Immediate Past Chairman Greg Brown Treasurer Bob Dolson Secretary Chuck Davis Richard Ames Jack Braden Tom Bunn Pamela Cohen Joan Collar John Culhane David Elliott, Honorary Trustee Dick Fishburn Leo Fishman, Honorary Trustee Manny Genauer Bill Hindman Shauneen Hutchinson Durk Jager Jack Kotz Tom Lindstrom Frank Murphy !
