IT STARTS WITH A VISION
To design the health and wellness destination of the future : that has been the goal of those involved in planning the new Valley Hospital in Paramus since it was first announced in early 2017 . It ’ s an ambitious , ever-evolving one , but characteristic of the leadership of longtime Valley Health president and CEO AUDREY MEYERS .
In addition to incorporating innovative , cutting-edge technology as well as lessons about patient care and operational features learned during COVID , the new Valley Hospital will also reflect acustomer-friendly atmosphere , she says .“ Everything about the new hospital and its campus has been designed with our patients and their families in mind ,” says Meyers , who was named to her position in 2003 and has been praised for establishing alliances with Mount Sinai Health System and the Cleveland Clinic . Towards this end , the hospital “ will be employing anew ‘ on stage-off stage ’ approach , which places essential equipment and supplies behind the scenes — accessible to staff , but inaway that does not interfere with patients or their families ,” she says .
In the not-too-distant future — spring 2024 , to be exact — the new hospital will face amajor challenge , when patients will be moved from the Ridgewood location to Paramus in asingle day . “ This will be an incredible milestone for Valley and the community , one we will celebrate in many ways ,” says Meyers . ■
