Mom Lauren decided to do open seating. However, she suggests
assigned tables for next time since it was difficult figuring out where
people should sit when they came in. “We had a combination of large
round table and small cocktail tables,” she says. “I would not use
the cocktail tables because they are really too small for people
to sit and have a meal.”

Among the many sweet treats for the partygoers to enjoy was
a special three-tiered cake made by A Little Cake in Park Ridge,
which featured a variety of pastel butterflies.

A personal touch included chocolate flower boxes filled
with M&M’s, made by April’s grandma, Maggie Laver,
which also served as party favors.
