NURSERY
Designed to easily transition to a bedroom for an older child, the nursery
mixes soft neutrals with vibrant pops of yellow. Cekirge chose a mix of
white wood furnishings, including a geometric cut-out Elsie daybed and
a classic oval crib. The yellow leather pouf was a special find at a market
in New York City, while the upholstered chair was bought at an antiques
store on the homeowners’ “babymoon” in the Berkshires.

GIRL’S BEDROOM
Pretty in pink could easily be the theme for this bedroom for a
6-year-old girl. A patterned wallpaper, inspired by a mid-20th century
Japanese pen and ink drawing, is a soothing backdrop for the pink linen
upholstered bed with nailhead trim. Window treatments frame a pink
painted bookcase. One of Cekirge’s favorite touches (not shown) is
the framed dress worn by the homeowners’ daughter when she met
President Obama. “The amazing personal style
ty of this family y lends their
used clothes to make great artwork,” she says.
