Engagement parties are lively at the farm and we love to cook with the season,” says, Megan Low Nobile, co-owner, designer and chef at Fresh & Fancy Farms in New Milford. Playing off the saying perfect“ pair,” Nobile created a pearfect party.
“ Welove the natural sweetness of pears and highlighted them in the design palette, menu and cocktail,” says Nobile.

Rustic Pear Galette

DIRECTIONS
• Whiskflour, sugar, and salt in abowl.
• Cut chilled butterinto small cubes and combine with flour mixture. Rub with your fingertipsuntil course, add waterand combine until it comes together intoadough ball. Don’ t overwork. Add morewater a teaspoon at atime if dry.
• Wrapinplastic and chill foranhour. This will makefor aflakey pie.

⁄ 4 cup brownsugar 1tablespoonlemon juice 1tablespoonbutter, melted 2tablespoons flour

⁄ 4 teaspoon cinnamon

⁄ 4 teaspoon ginger 1egg

EGG WASH 1egg 1tablespoonwater

⁄ 2 cup rawsugar fortopping
DIRECTIONS
• Slicepears in 1 ⁄ 4 piecesand whisk together remaining ingredients in aseparatebowl.
• Split dough in three piecesand roll out each.
• Placehalf sliced pears at the center of the dough, drizzlewith 2 tablespoons remaining ingredient mixtureand pull edges toward the center leaving about a2-inch opening, revealingthe sliced pear. Do not over-saturatethe pears.
• Whisk together egg and waterina small bowl.
• Brush the crust with the egg wash and sprinklewith rawsugar.
• Bakefor 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees.
• Remove from ovenand let cool slightly.
• Top with vanilla ice-cream, cinnamon and agave syrup.
