20SS: How did 6.8.2. Records come about? 6.8.2 Records came about because I saw a void in the music industry with what was being released. I could see that old major labels were having a hard time adapting to the digital age, (and still are) whereas we, an independent record label, have the freedom to release music we believe in, and our fans want to hear. Music is polluted with what’s hot right now, in two weeks that hit is over. We are about the albums, the music, the artists, and the art form, what the major labels have failed to pay any attention to. 20SS: What’s in the name? 6.8.2’s name comes from the phone number exchange (682) in Copper Cliff, representing where the President (Trevor Johnston) was born. 20SS: Who Do you Currently Represent? Some really legendary hip hop artists! KRS-One, Bumpy Knuckles, Sadat X, Grand Puba, Dead Celebrity Status and Sudbury’s very own, Kill The Autocrat! 20SS: What is a normal week like for your record label? What kind of things do you do? I don’t have what most people would call a “normal” week or a fixed schedule. When we sign a new artist and release their album, I work the project from beginning to end. I get most of my work done from Sudbury; however I do travel quite a bit to New York and LA for business. I take care of our publishing division, admi
