Dr. Sandra Nichols is a dedicated educator. She teachs in the Mass Communication/Communication Studies department and is so passionate about what she teaches that she sometimes forgets when the class is supposed to end. At Towson University, Dr. Nichols is a valued professor to many students. Recently, in an interview, we were able to find out what is it that makes this woman so valuable.

How long have you been teaching here at Towson?

I was hired as a tenure-track faculty member in 2004, so I'm completing my 10th year here at Towson University at the end of this semester.

What Classes do you teach?

Over the past 10 ears, I've taught a variety of courses, including introduction to mass communication, both print and broadcast journalism, a study abroad course, and media criticism.

What are your favorite classes to teach? While i've enjoyed all the courses I've taught here, perhaps it's been MCOM 101, Introduction to Mass Communication, that I've most enjoyed because it's given me the chance to introduce students to the idea of thinking critically about the media they consume.
