In late November 2014, Sony Pictures Entertainment
was attacked by a group who embezzled vast amounts of
information off of Sony’s network. They disclosed the
information to journalists, who wrote on humiliating things
Sony workers had uttered to each other.
When Sony Pictures workers got into the office, they
found that their corporate network had been hacked. The

that tags along - is underlined by the conviction that the

Breaking
through international market
Sony’s choice to move from the local to the worldwide
market took seed during Morita’s 1953 visit to Philips.
“Holland resembles Japan in many ways. If a company like
Philips can succeed in the international market, there’s no
reason why Totsuko can’t,” he thought.
Their underlying objective was to develop abroad
markets which would yield half of their gross deals. On
account of deals of transistor radios and the industrious
advertising endeavors of Morita and his staff, this objective
got conceivable inside seven years.

of America (SONAM) was set up to supervise Sony’s
advertising exercises in the United States by “working
with Americans like an American organization.” This was
something that no other Japanese gadgets company had set
out to endeavor.
