1969 Voice Of The Tennessee Walking Horse 1969 September/October Voice RS | Page 67

RODGERS PERFECTION led the sale in popularity as sire of fourteen colts. He was followed by TRIPLE THREAT, with ten colts consigned. Third in number j of colts was SUN SET S, with nine colts, and MACK K’S REBEL, with eight colts consigned, was fourth. There were sixty-five stallions represented in the sale which indicates that a lot of fine colts by good stal lions are available that have had difficulty getting into the marketplace. An evaluation of the caliber of colts consigned indi cates that most were just average colts and naturally brought average prices. However, there were quite a few top colts that went through, bringing prices on a par with any sale held during the Celebration week. There were 152 colts sold during the two-day sale. Several top colts went through the sale, including the popular JOHNNY’S GO BOY, which were no-saled at top prices. An impressive factor was the presence of colts from as far away as Pennsylvania, Missouri, Oklahoma, and New York. Plans are already underway for next year’s sale, which will be held the last Friday and Saturday of Celebration week. There will be a concentrated effort on the part of the owners of the Sellebration Sale to ! personally check and inspect each colt that is con signed next year. Their aim is to have nothing but top colts, and they will make every effort to upgrade the calibre of stock each year. Congratulations are in order to Mr. Bobo and Mr. Waters for a fine first effort. They are rendering a valuable service to the Walking Horse breed by pro viding a "marketplace for many of the nation’s top young horses.” EQUIPMENT * RQ aox "Be • OiKE RC i .CtEvEl-ANO TENNESSEE 3*3" • NEW!
