Dude Prestwood made his mark on the 1969
Celebration with his great victory in this class
of forty-five entries. Dude worked his horse
well enough to qualify for the final workout
of fourteen horses and then pulled out all the
stops to cop the victory over the other hopefuls.
Elmore Brock and MAJOR’S MARY POPPINS
kept the pressure on Dude but could not quite
claim the honor. Jimmy McConnell and SHAD
OW'S MISS EBONY placed third, with the widely-
known JUDGES' CHOICE and Albert Rowland
coming in fourth. Dude and CARBON' COPY'S
STAR will be a team to watch in the future.’

One of the new classes at this year's Celebration
and a qualifying class for the Grand Champion
ship. this class created widespread interest among
the spectators. The pre-show favorites. Donald
Paschal and GO BOY S CHATTERBOX, could
not hold off the upset bid of Bob Cherry and
TIGER BAY as this fancy stallion captured the
crowd's approval and the first-place award. CHAT
TERBOX was not up to his best form but still
had the ability to tie reserve, with J T. I.eech
and MANOR GO BOY tying a disappointing
third. Each of the first three horses received a
first-place vote from one of the judges.

Laura Brandon, who has proven her ability as
an exhibitor of both Walking Horses and gaited
horses, won this class with a tremendous show
on the great MONEYTREES SHADOW. Laura
and her horse were the choice of all three judges
and really displayed their ability in the final
judging of 15 horses. Cissy Best captured her
second reserve tie of the Celebration on the pop
ular and flashy SILVER SHADOW'S REPLICA.
Attractive Jan Wright made a strong show to
place third on GO BOY'S BLACK BARON, the
horse she has won many honors with over the
past several years.
