Gayle Brinkley and SUGAR SACK kept the pressure on the winners by tying reserve after receiving one first-place vote. Randy Warren turned in a fine job of riding to tie third on SHADOW'S FIRST LADY. COLLEGE BOV is no newcomer to honors, having been shown for years in all competition and consistently turning in a top performance. The third spot went to Wallace Brandon riding SUN'S ROCKET MAN Buddy Hugh and WHIRLYBIRD finished fourth in this highly competitive class.
