23RD ANNUAL NEW ORLEANS HORSE SHOW SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 25-28
The 23rd Annual New Orleans Charity Horse Show will be held April 25-28 at the Historic Fairgrounds. The show is sponsored by the Jaycee Charities, Inc. and the Junior Chamber of Commerce of New Orleans.
David Welsh of Mocksville, N. C. will judge the Walking Horse classes. Nine Walking Horse classes are being offered.
Prize money for the entire show totals S 12,500. and the show is a
member of the American Horse Show

JOE BUDD, FLORIDA WALKING HORSE FANCIER, PASSES AWAY
Mr. Josiah Taylor Budd III ofQuincy, Florida, died in a Gainesville, Florida hospital on January 27,1968. Mr. Budd was founder and president
of the Budd Cigar Company of Quincy, and was 78 years old.
Mr. Budd and Florence W. Brooks, the former Mrs. Budd, were owners of OLD GLORY BIG MAN, World s Grand Champion Tennessee Walking Horse of 1950. Carl Edwards, who made and showed the champion, also won the Stallion Class in 1950, the Junior Champion Class in 1948 and the Three-Year-Old Stallion Class at the Celebration. Mr. Budd and Florence W. Brooks were great Tennessee Walking Horse lovers for many years.
The Budd Cigar Company will continue to operate with new officers.
We are sure that the Tennessee Walking Horse world will be sorry to hear of Mr. Joe Budd’ s passing.

OHIO ENTHUSIASTS FORM ASSOCIATION TO PROMOTE WALKING HORSE BREED
Sixty-seven Walking Horse fans turned out for the initial and founding meeting of the Ohio Valley Walking Horse Association just recently. The important matters in the forming of an association were taken care of in the major action of the meeting.
Ralph Lovett was elected the first president of the group, with Paul " Whitey” Whitehead being called upon to serve as vice president. John Lloyd was elected secretary, and Shirley Ashford is the treasurer.
Nine trustees were appointed with three-year terms going to Ralph Lovett, John Lloyd and Shirley Ashford. Two-year terms were taken by Paul Whitehead, Clarence Patterson and Elroy Mallard. One-year trustees are Clint Byrd, Sue Patton and Bob Ashford.
