BITS and SPURS Sharon Terry Box 1178 State College, Mississippi Recently I attended a performance in Jackson by Eric Burdon and his singing group, the New Animals. Eric is as fine a person as he is a performer. His down-to-earth friendliness and sincerity were typical of his nature. Eric puts everything he has into a per formance and he and his New Animals are artists in the truest sense of the word. The New Animals are: Barry Jenkins, drums; Danny McCulloch, bass guitar; John Weider, guitar and vio lin; and Vic Briggs, guitar and piano. Eric, the leader, does the vocals. W. This cocky colt is nearly ready to show under the expert hands of Neil Robinson. With speed to spare and lots of motion he will definitely be ready for the early spring shows. Billy Busby of Okolona, Mississippi, has a top two- year-old called THE BIG SURPRISE by MIDNIGHT ON PARADE. Gus Hamilton is working this colt and Billy is really proud of him. I believe there are more top two-year-olds out this year than ever before. I have seen quite a few out standing colts work and I am looking forward to see ing some of these youngsters in competition. REX WATTS STABLES BOX 383 HUDSON, N.
