Dr. M. E. Ensminger has announced that a group
of distinguished agriculturalists from throughout the
United States and Canada has joined hands and has
set up a nonprofit foundation, known as Agriservices
Foundation. According to Dr. Ensminger, both (1)
the winter Beef Cattle Science School and Stud
Managers’ School, held in Phoenix each January,
and (2) the summer Horse Science Schools will be
sponsored by the new Foundation.”
In keeping with other similar nonprofit founda
tions, Agriservices Foundation will be administered
by Trustees. Additionally, representatives of all seg
ments of the industry will be invited to serve on
the Board of Advisors.
Reasons for the Foundation: “Half of today’s
knowledge will be obsolete in 10 years, and the
other half of what will be needed by 1975 hasn’t
yet been researched or developed. In brief, there is
urgent need for practical ways to keep ahead. To
meet the unprecedented demands of the future, there
is need for a foundation dedicated to the betterment
of agriculture.”
The Objectives: “Dedicated to furthering educa
tion, research and development in the field of agri
culture, thereby enhancing the health and happi
ness of mankind.” Dr. Ensminger added, “In my
judgment, the potentialities are exciting and un
limited.”
GO BOY'S ROYAL HEIR GOES TO STEVE HILL
STABLES IN MAJOR SHOW HORSE TRADE
GO BOY’S ROYAL HEIR, a five year old black
stallion that was shown successfully the latter part
of last season by Buddy Hugh, has been moved to
Steve Hill Stables as the result of a major Show
Horse trade. It is reported that Mrs. Dwain Clark
of Beverly Hills, California, owner of two times
World Champion Gelding, HILL’S PERFECTION,
has traded a two year old stud colt, a Junior Stallion
and HILL’S PERFECTION, plus an undetermined
amount of money, for half interest in ROYAL HEIR.
Mr. Hank Sheely, of Dallas, Texas, previous full
owner of the top rated stallion, still maintains half
ownership.
In discussing the trade with Steve Hill, of Beech
Grove, Tennessee, we learned that a great deal of
interest has been generated as a result of the trade
and that he is personally very pleased with the
swap. Steve has been looking for a top stallion for
some time and feels that this horse can go all the
way. GO BOY’S ROYAL HEIR, is best described as
a “walking show horse” with plenty of bloom and
action. He travels naturally and has three good
gaits. With Steve Hill in the saddle he will be a
formidable contender every time he enters the show
ring. Needless to say — “he is Celebration bound.”
