SALUTE TO AMATEURS
During any horse show, it’s notun-
usual to hear the announcer intro
duce the amateur class like this:
"These, ladies and gentlemen,
are the amateurs, the people who
ride for the love of the sport.
It’s a big class and most of them
will leave the ring with nothing
but a hot horse. Let’s give them
a big hand — they deserve it!”
And they really do deserve it. The
amateur and juvenile classes are
consistently the largest classes at
most Mid-South horse shows. Win or

lose, the amateurs enjoy themselves
and keep showing year after year.
"Hats off’ to them all!
After seeing some of the horses in
action, one thing is certain - this
Mid-South show season promises to
be the most exciting ever! There
are quite a few flashy new horses
making their debuts in the show
ring this year, while the veterans of
last year are coming on stronger
than ever.
Among the "old reliables” in the
juvenile division are LINDA ROB
INSON and ROBBIE PEGRAM.

To the great relief of many of their
competitors, Linda and Robbie are
leaving for a month in Europe. We
wish them a wonderful trip.
