MICHIGAN WALKING HORSE ENTHUSIASTS ARE OFF TO A GOOD START FOR 1965
Fifty members and guests oi the Walking Horse Club, Inc. met recently in the Galesburg, Michigan High School, and enjoyed a very interesting talk with color-slide illustrations by Dr. ARLE SCHNEIDER, Veterinarian, of Vicksburg. The talk concerned the care and management of the horse; diseases and medicines; and parasites.
The President of the Club, Mrs. RUSSELL HAYNER ofKalamazoo, owner of the Valley Dale Horse Farm in Galesburg, presided at the short business meeting and called on Mr. DUANE FANKHAUSER of Few Acres Stables, Otsego, retiring President of the Club, to review the newly-drawn-up papers of Incorporation of the Walking Horse Club.
Other officers of the Club are: Mr. WILLIAM DINZIK, Vicksburg, Vice President; Mrs. MEL NORMAN, Battle Creek, Recording Secretary; and re-elected Corresponding Secretary Mrs. PHILLIP NYE of Battle Creek. Mrs. WILLIAM DINZIK will be Chairman of the Club’ s annual " Little Celebration Horse Show” which will be held at the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds on July 10 and 11, 1965. Refreshments were served by the hostesses of the meeting, Mrs. DUANE FANKHAUSER and Mrs. PHILLIP NYE. The next meeting will be March 20 in Battle Creek. Mrs. DARLENE HAAS will be hostess.
The new officers of the Walking Horse Association of Michigan are as follows: President- Mr. VICTOR BUCKNELL of Vicksburg; Vice President- Mr. MEL NORMAN of Battle Creek; Secretary- Mrs. DARLENE HAAS of Augusta; Treasurer- Mrs. J.
