with his trainer, Mr. Price, last season. He will be looking for many more in ’64. This stallion is owned by Mr. Julian Brady, Ram- seur, N.C. Among the good Geld ings are GO BOY’S BLAZE owned by Mr. Ralph Deutsch, Asheboro, N. C., and SOCIETY JACK owned by Mr. V. M. Smith, Charlotte, N. C. A fine four-year-old black mare named LITTLE EGYPT and a three-year-old bay mare named SUNS LUNAY LITE owned by Mr. W. H. Lenthicum, High Point, N.C., will be ready for the gates to open the last of March. LITTLE EGYPT made her first appearance this year on Channel 8 television in High Point. As Elaine and I started to leave, Kenny told one of the grooms to get out the bay two-year-old in the last stall, we got into the car and started down the driveway my wife looked back toward the barn and said, “Harold stop the car.” I did. When I looked back I saw Kenny come riding down the driveway beside the barn on the bay colt. We went back and spent the rest of the day at Northwood Stables. The colt Kenny was riding was one of the best colts I have ever seen. It was ONLY DEFENDER owned by Mr. Frank Smith, High Point. Another two-year-old which is doing very good is a filly named REMEMBER STAR. She is owned by Mr. Carl Mickey. Mr. Price and Mr. D. K. Miller own a nice stallion named PRICE’S STROLLER. This two-year-old is a grandson of MIDNIGHT MACK K and has a natural way of go ing. Kenny has a chestnut three- year-old mare, JUBILEE’S LIZ, which I think will be in the top money in every show. My wife and I enjoyed very much visiting Roll ing Acres Farm and Northwood Stables. We want to thank Mr. Bobo and Mr. Price for allowing us to visit their barns and for let tings us get a sneak preview of what horses will probably repre sen their stables this year. Elaine and I were going to visit three other Stables this month but something happened to halt these visits until a later date. There is a little one in our family now. He was born six weeks early. Box 3054 Chattanooga, Tenn. 37404 WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP THE HORSE TO KEEP HIS BACK END UP UNDER HIM AND HELP HIM GET BETTER STRIDE? ANSWER: A good horse will naturally do this, but you can cause him to string out behind if you work him too fast before he is ready. You can help him to improve by warming him up very slowly and by using very little pressure on the bit. This will also help him reach in front as well. Remember to ride him ex tremely slow when warming him up.
