1963-Voice Of The Tennessee Walking Horse 1963 September Voice | Page 26

Taking their eyes off the show ring just long enough to pose for our VOICE camera is Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Harrison of Cairo Georgia, Mrs. Betty Whitaker of Crestview, Florida and Burton Wom'ble of Cairo, Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Harrison have the Lakeview Stables in Cairo and were seen doing their best to sway the judges decision when their teen age daughter showed in a juvenile class. Snapshots Obviously somebody got took, although neither will admit which it was. That feller Hall has been known to make a deal and it appears that he got that “slick” from Nashville to shake on it. This is typical of the many personal business transactions that took place “behind the barn” at the Celebration. Our camera was lucky indeed to have captured such a momentous occasion. Part of the Georgia delegation included Dr, and Mrs. Truman Whitfield, Mr, and Mrs. Haynes Masters, Miss Carolyn Masters and Miss Sue Faulkner, all of Dalton, Georgia. Our efforts to get the undivided attention of several of these horselovers was fruitless. They were too intent on seeing the results of the Marc Class. Stand up thar hoss . . . whoa!” Here is a typical scene to be lound at any of the several auctions held Celebration week. A sheked-up colt with braid and all, is groomed for the prospect of finding a buyer at the desired price. A lot of registcration papers and a lot of “green” traded hands that week.
