WALKING STALLIONS, FOUR-YEARS-OLD AND OVER
As they hit the gate, the crowd began to
pair off as if they had their minds made
up to cheer their favorite to the blue. This
all important preliminary to the Grand
Championship Stake was a thriller from
start to finish. Sam Paschal, on hand-picked
SUN’S DELIGHT, chose the rail and
remained there to put on an exhibition
suitable for three first place ties. Second
on all three cards was TRIPLE THREAT,
ridden by veteran showman, Harold Ken
nedy in a prefarmance that definitely gained
many backers for his horse and the up
coming championship. Third was SPIRIT
OF MIDNIGHT, shown by trainer Steve
Hill who received the nod from the judges
and a sixth place spot by the referee. Fourth
went to bold-going MACK K’s BIG STORY
with Buddy Kirby up. There were seventeen
