Class No . 41 COLORED GROOMS ON WALKING HORSES
As always , this class drew the response of the crowd , for here are the men-behind-thescenes , whose experience and knowledge is invaluable to many top trainers . James Trice , riding BIG SHOT ’ S FIRE BALL , put on a hot performance from start to finish to tie the blue on all three cards . Second was ALLENS BLUE BLAZE , ridden by James Byrd who received this spot with one judge and the referee and a sixth from another judge . Willie McGee put MAGIC ’ S RINGLADY through her routine to tie third . He received a third , a seventh and an eighth to win here . The other six winners were a credit to the profession of “ ground man ” at a stable .
