New TWH Farm At Waterloo, la. Father-Son Job

Dr. Rex B. Foster, of 919 West Fourth Street, Waterloo, Iowa, tells oC launching a new Tennessee Walking Horse Farm at Waterloo with he and his father as partners.
He reports they bought big Merry Go Boy offspring on a visit in Tennessee during the week of Oct. 22. These horses were purchased through S. W. Beech. Jr., of Route 5, Lewisburg, including three weanlings and two yearlings. They have begun to break Go Boy ' s Bandit, to be two years old next April, and plan to bring him to Middle Tennessee for special training at that time.
While in Tennessee they visited stables at Lewisburg, Shelbyville and Murfreesboro— seeing many fine Walking Horses.
“ This is a new adventure to us, but in a few years we hope to make an impression,” Dr. Foster says.
“ At the present time my father has a wonderful Shetland Pony farm( around 50 animals) and I have been breeding Quarter Horses and American Saddle bred horses,” he continues.“ Since an injury to my back early last spring, I have decided on Walking Horses. I’ m not as young as I thought.
" We want to return to Tennessee for the next five years and bring home two mares( each year). This should give dad and me a good foundation for breeding Walking Horses."
Dr. Foster also would like to attend the Celebration next year and is seeking accommodations.( The Shelbyville Chamber of Commerce annually handles reservations in private homes, taking care of many hundreds each year.)
Vienna, Mo. Walker Lover A Taxidermist
Mrs. Floyd( Lola) Adkins of Vienna, Mo. is a long-time lover of the Tennessee Walking Horse and has been a taxidermist for 11 years— in addition to handling custom-made leatherwork. She says she specializes in albino animals and birds— but majors in deer heads. Also she says she loves the light colored Walking Horses although " they are hard to keep clean.” She finds a marked difference in the way Walkers are trained and ridden today, as compared with years ago.
