1930's Footwear

Women's suits grew more popular and with that, women needed serious shoes to accompany the look. Heels were lower and broader to look more businesslike. The shoes were not as stylish as they were in the 1920's. The T-strap was a very popular style of shoe. The shoe would have a strap across the front and down the middle. It also had a strap across the heel of the foot for security. Sandals were worn to more than just the beach. They were worn as day shoes and some made out of silks, satins and velvets were worn in the evening. At the end of the 1930's, suede was used too. In general, most shoe colours were black, maroon, brown, or navy blue. Brighter colours would not be worn until the end of the 1930's.
