Keeping our campus safe
The safety of our students is our No. 1 priority. We want students to be at ease, enjoy campus life, and focus on their education.
To that end, the University of Utah has several layers of protection, starting with our Campus Police force that works night and day, every day of
the year, to keep our campus community safe. Our Emergency Management Services team is ready to respond to any emergency, and they keep
everyone here well trained in what to do in dangerous and natural disaster situations. We also have a campuswide emergency-alert system that
gives students and parents vital updates when necessary.
The university provides courtesy escorts any time, so students needn’t walk alone. Our SafeU program unites students, staff, and faculty in
protecting each other, working to prevent incidents of discrimination, crime, and assault, and in victim-survivor advocacy and support. We’re all
