WOMEN

The average dress for women are made of a tight bodice with a high neck and the front is covered in buttons. Collars and cuffs are usually made with white lace. The skirt is full and bell-shaped. Hair is parted at the centre and tied into an up-do with loops covering the ears. They’re also wearing ostrich feathers, pomegranate flowers and butterflies for decorations.

MEN

Men`s coats are usually semi-fitted. They extend to the mid-thigh area. They are also usually collarless. Trousers are cut from a narrow check cloth. High collars are worn with neck-ties. Men’s hair is also parted at the centre and wavy. Full beards and moustaches are very popular.

FASHION IN SLOVENIA

Ivan Cankar, Slovenian writer, essayist, poet and politician, a very proud man, sets the scene for men’s fashion with his fabulous moustache in the late 19th century.
