of support from caring people.
The district is committed to providing an education that prepares all students to become life-long learners and responsible, productive participants in a rapidly changing world.
A teaching staff of approximately 247 certificated members
claims an average of 12 years of instructional experience. An equal
opportunity employer, the district is attentive to staff development
for all teachers. Three half-days are devoted to training on topics
supported by a staff survey and related to the district's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Additionally, three half-days
are devoted to staff collaboration, providing opportunities for peer
networking and discussion of some aspect of instructional improvement.
The teaching staff is supported by professional and nonprofessional personnel who genuinely care about the educational development of students. An administrative staff of eleven directs the
instructional programs for the district and constantly evaluates
their curricular and academic effectiveness. They are in touch with
educational trends, seeking those which will enhance learning in
the R-lll District. In addition, a support staff of over 50 employees
works to facilitate learning. They maintain buildings, answer telephones, keep records, and assist faculty and students in making
the day more successful for everyone involved.
The school district continually looks for way to assimilate new
residents as well as maintain the culture that identifies our community. We have committee to making smaller class sizes, for example, protecting the environment where a student can connect.
A character education component too has been incorporated into
the curriculum to reflect the community values.
