years ago, the schools in Pleasant
Hill have spoken of what this community values. They are a reflection of our
character, our economics, and our social vitality. Through the years as we have built
new schools or added on to existing buildings, we have provided safe, positive, stimulating learning environments to
encourage and challenge children. The
Pleasant Hill School District has long been
committed to assuring the existence of facilities and to providing innovative programs that support quality learning.
Since 1830 when the first public school
in the area opened its door, the district has
grown to five campuses with a total enrollment of approximately 2143. A Primary
School accommodates prekindergarten
through second grade classes; an Elementary School accommodates students in
grades three through four; an Intermediate
School accommodates students in grades
five through six; a Middle School accommodates students in grades seventh and
eighth; and the High School accommodates
freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors
Pleasant Hill R-lll school district is located in northeast Cass County just
twenty-five minutes southeast of Kansas
City. Covering approximately 75 square
miles, the district serves a community of
8,300 residents as well as the surrounding
rural area. The proximity of Pleasant Hill
to the metropolitan area attracts residents
who seek a peaceful setting in country with
all the benefits of the city close at hand.
Families are drawn to the area where basic
