The World Cup in Yankeeland GEORG CRONAU E R NEW YORK— Finally, New York! Living in the city that never sleeps is a dream come true! Apart from academic work, HULTians knew pretty well how to spend their time. Sightseeing and going out was a great part of it, however what really struck me was the atmosphere during the world cup in the city. All Americans were electrified by the event and the bars and streets were buzzing when the US team was playing, but also the support for other teams was huge. I never imagined it, but Americans were highly educated about European Soccer! It was a truly great experience! West to East ROY R E E F Cheers, London! BOSTON — Rotation described in two words: ‘Amazing Experience’. During my rotation from SF to Boston a whole new chapter started. Wrapping up here, leaving my house and starting again in a different city. Entering a new location is always exciting. Who are those new people? Does it work the same? So many questions. ISA BE L A L M E I DA E BR I TO During my stay I met a lot of new people, went out often and discovered what an amazing city Boston is. Those new people became friends for life, who liked to party but were there for you too. A city with so many students, a bar downstairs in school, add this up and trust me, you will have a new lifelong memory thanks to Hult. Don’t hesitate, Just Do It! A Tourist in San Francisco S AOWA L U C K P I T C H AYATA N A P O R N ( G I B ) SAN FRANCISCO — Moving from one country to another can be a very challenging experience. As many have said, “living and travelling in a new country are two different things.” I could not disagree with this, but for me, the two things can definitely be combined into one fantastic experience. Having stayed in Shanghai for 8 months, I felt that it would not be such a bad idea to go to a different country, in a different continent, with an entirely different culture. I chose San Francisco as one of my rotation campuses and I have not yet regretted a single moment here. The cable cars, the golden gate bridge, the diversity of the people and the friendliness environment, the uniqueness of the city, the Hult campus and again the culturally diverse fellow students you can meet here are just open-eye experience I got from being here! LONDON — Believe it or not, before module D I had never been to London. "But you're from Europe!" was many of my friends' response. As a citizen of the beautiful land of Portugal, I simply never felt attracted to foggy, rainy London. Boy, was I missing out. 6 weeks is a very short period of time to explore a city, but thanks to some local friends, a guidebook and a strong spirit of adventure, it was a blast! It wasn't too easy to balance school work with my travels, but it was worth a few sleepless nights to explore this new and incredible city. After spending 9 months in San Francisco, walking around London made me realise how much I had missed the cultural heritage of Europe, which in London is visible in every building and street, not to mention the beautiful monuments such as the National Gallery, the British Museum and the Big Ben. With low-cost flights across Europe, I also took advantage of the possibility to revisit the city of Rome, where I spent time with family and friends. Although I didn't go home in that time, I feel that this experience was really worth it. I had the opportunity to discover a completely new city, meet amazing people and learn a lot, both in terms of academics and about this new place. Cheers, London, see you soon!
