In 1860 , El Dorado Hills was the mining town of Clarksville , a stop along a well-traveled immigrant route through El Dorado County .

Though the pandemic has put plans on hold , January says initial designs feature an indoor therapy pool , bocce courts , a picnic area , a large community room and a commercial kitchen .
“ These are big plans that I probably won ’ t see ( come to fruition ), but at least I can get the project off the ground ,” January says . “ I ’ m very proud of our community and I ’ m extremely happy to be living here .”

The El Dorado Hills Community Services District and El Dorado Hills Promise Foundation are developing Bass Lake Regional Park into a multifaceted gem that will truly sparkle , says Kevin A . Loewen , general manager for the CSD . More than 200 acres will feature four distinct preserved habitats , a natural resource center , sports fields , playgrounds , dog parks , a network of trails and piers , and an 85,000-square-foot event space . The project is expected to break ground in fall of 2021 .
